Tired!

I don’t think I’ve recovered from Phoenix being sick yet. I’ve been working overtime and going to see the boys every night. Not to mention my road trip to Columbus last weekend and the New Albany Classic (which was awesome again this year, love seeing Olympians so close up!) Phoenix had his second official full ride since his illness (did two small walking rides before that). He is feeling good and we had a good time out in the field tonight.

Stampede surprised me (I almost fell over) by being willing to eat sand clear out of my hand. He is the pickiest eater and Phoenix is a pig, and Phoenix thinks the sand clear is gross. So Stampede is happily eating his sand clear with his night-time grain that I bring, so that’s good. It looks like Stampede had a pretty good episode of sleep deprivation today – hairs scratched up on his butt and some bedding on his side. I wish I knew why he does it, he used to lay down for the first few years I had him. The vet had to cancel our appointment for an emergency, so I just rescheduled to make the shots at the same time to save some money. I’m going to finally do the previcox trial so he’s on it for my lesson on Tuesday. I was going to do Saturday, but then our lesson got cancelled, so I’m waiting.

The new panels are in for my Butet, so I will be sending my saddle off soon. Is it normal to be nervous? It’s like sending a baby away to school or something, don’t want him to get hurt. I also got word that the Pessoa for Phoenix made it to the US this week, so hopefully I will get it soon and it will fit both of us. So basically I will be poor after this month! Not mention the cost of board is going up October 1st. Rough.

Glad the boys are feeling better. I hope the previcox trial works 🙂 I understand sending the saddle off. I think that I would be upset now if I had to send my new saddle anywhere and worried something might happen. And yuck about board :/

I’ve been trying to decide how much to insure it for when I mail it. To replace it would be $4,600 (eeek!!) but it’s probably only worth $3,000 maybe $3,500? It’s a 2009, but in great condition. Board went up $35 per month per horse, very rough.

What would the price difference be in insuring it for 4600 or 3500? I would be inclined to say the replacement value? But what do I know.
