So far this week has been much of the same with Stampede. I did hop on him Sunday for a walk/gimp around the indoor. Yesterday I got out to the barn to find his leg had gotten quite puffy again and he was getting more gimpy as well. Probably a good sign that this stupid abscess will probably blow soon.
Left the hoof wrap on from Sunday, added a leg wrap Monday
Mr P and I had a nice bareback ride in Monday. I felt like I hadn’t ridden bareback in forever. Ever since I got the Antares my preferences have switched around a bit, lol. P continues to feel extra forward which I could never complain about!
Yesterday a friend I used to ride with dropped off some open front boots she has for sale. I tried them on Stampede’s non-swollen leg for fit. They are super stiff so it was a bit hard to tell. The tendon groove feels like it lines up and I think once they break in it will be nice. Still holding out hope for a ride in them later this week since Stampy can be weird about boots.

Last night it did look like we could tell where the buried abscess treasure is going to come out at. Weird location but makes sense since he hasn’t wanted to put his heel down.
There is a notch missing then a raised area to the right of it. Hard to get a good picture!
So I’m hoping this thing pops shortly, otherwise we already have the lameness vet coming Thursday so I could split the farm call and get it dug out and move on. We shall see.
In other news, baby J has the most amazing eyelashes I have ever seen on a dog. I hope they stick around.

Poor stamps. Is most of your tack that light? That would be my only complaint. I like a darker brown color.

My butet is lighter on the knee pads, maybe slightly redder than these boots. I was hoping to darken the boots a little. You don’t think they will darken up?

Boots look a tad small? Although I am not a boot fitting expert.
I had that thought but the tendon grooves match up and they are still very stiff. Pretty much if they aren’t on a horse they go back to being flat, lol. Might just go for the bevals I like still.
