What is your horse’s absolute favorite thing?  Outside of riding!  Are there treats that instantly convert your pony into an addict or liniments that leave him yawning and chewing?  What does your horse just love to have?

I missed linking up again, so here’s the link to Beka’s original post with all of the links!

Both boys

There are a few treats that get the boys so excited that they can’t help but lick their stalls afterwards. The all time favorite for this is peanut butter and jelly williemuffins, followed by other flavors of williemuffin, nickerdoodles, and stud muffins.

Phoenix

P is pretty addicted to hand grazing. He knows where the good grass is, and he would prefer to eat there.

Otherwise, I would say he just loves attention. If it involves a human telling him he’s cute, petting him, grooming him, riding him, or feeding him cookies, he’s in.

Stampede

Stampede is a bit harder to figure out. He likes to be near me, but he’s not the cuddly attention whore his brother is. I’d have to say his favorite is scratches up high on his neck just below his mane. He will stretch his nose out and lift his head up while tilting towards the scratcher to let you know you’ve got it right. His scratchy spots have come in handy at shows to help keep him quiet. My friend D is great at finding his scratching spot and keeping him occupied before he goes in for his class.

About 1/3 down his neck about an inch below his mane - the ultimate scratchy spot

You might have to add me on P’s favorite list since my only purpose in life anymore is to give him cookies! Lol

I just treated my herd to some stud muffins this weekend. Usually they just get plain old carrots and they were super excited. That’s adorable about the special scratchy spots. 🙂 I’ve found Apollo’s and Mystic’s but Henry doesn’t seem to have any.

Phoenix doesn’t really have a scratchy spot, he just wants attention otherwise, lol. My horses would knock down walls to get to their favorite treats I’m pretty sure. 🙂

I actually only found Stampede’s a few years ago, so there’s still a chance you will find hers! The trick with Stampede is that he takes a minute to respond.

    What! What are williemuffins?!

You know, if it weren’t for the face thing, I don’t think Archie would want to be touched much. Maybe one scratchy side on his neck, too.
