Arizona Vacation

Many of you didn’t know but I was off on a vacation in Arizona since my last post. I had never been to Arizona at all. My husband and I have focused mostly on destinations that included waterfalls so this was a very different destination. We flew into Phoenix where we spent the night at a resort in Scottsdale before heading to Sedona the next day. We spent five days in Sedona before heading back to Phoenix and staying in a hotel near the airport to maximize sleep for our early morning flight home.

Since Phoenix itself wasn’t very exciting to me (it was so horribly hot, ugh) let’s move on to the gorgeous red rocks of Sedona! My husband and I went on several hikes with amazing views everywhere!

Sedona also features lots of art, and I found several awesome items.

While in Sedona we also did a side trip to the Grand Canyon, which truly doesn’t look as awesome in my photos as it was in person!

We also went on a hot air balloon ride one early morning in Sedona. I was so scared ahead of time but I had researched and the death rate is much lower than riding or driving so I went for it, lol. It was really so smooth and the views were awesome. I would totally do it again in another location.

Passed over a horse farm for sale, I think the guide said it belongs to the Wrigleys (as in gum) currently. Check out the pattern on the riding ring!

Now I’m nicely refreshed and back with my favorite ponies and puppies! Pony updates coming soon!

So cool. Small aircraft scare the bejeezes out of me, but if I were to do it, that’d be a good place! Glad you had such a great trip!

I was freaked out beforehand and I generally find small planes and helicopters really creepy but it was just so smooth and stable I felt silly after doing it. They have a surprising amount of control of the balloon.

The pilot had much more control of the balloon than I could have imagined, even the landing was gentle and easy. Definitely nowhere near the level of scary I had in my mind beforehand.

I’d just like to know how long it took to do that pattern, lol. Really it just made me want to go ride in there and mess it up! It was very cool but I definitely could not live there, too hot!
