2019 Blogger Gift Exchange

One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is the annual blogger gift exchange. Tracy from Printable Pony is awesome and does the leg work of matching people up – thank you Tracy! I have met some of the most awesome people in this community and I love the chance to interact in a more tangible way. Usually I also find a new blog to follow along the way as well!

This year my package came from Emily at May As Well Event. I have followed her blog for a while now, so it was fun to recognize the person I received my gift from.

First, some tack soap from Higher Standards Leather Care. Lavender vanilla is my favorite scent of the one’s I’ve sampled over the years. I will be using it soon on two of my oversize bridles that went moldy at the barn while I was horseless. The bridles are too big for Ernie so they will get cleaned and go into storage. I evidently have FIVE oversize bridles and I hadn’t owned a full size bridle since my first horse back in the 90’s! I have purchased a full size bridle for Ernie but he did need an oversize brownband, so we are waiting on that and borrowing a bridle from a friend currently. I’ll share pictures once he is all outfitted.

Stud muffins are always a hit, although I still need to determine the split of these among the ponies. Does the oldest one get the most treats? The cutest one? The one who works for a living? I’m not sure how I decide!

Lastly, some smartwool socks. I’ve actually never tried smartwool socks before, so I’m looking forward to that.

Thank you Emily for the awesome gifts!

Happy Holidays Everyone!

Yay! So glad they made it to you safe and sound. Smart wool socks have been a GODSEND for me, so I hope they help keep your feet warm in those stirrups!

I generally have been doing back on track knee high socks then regular noble outfitter wool socks on top which is doable but a little cold at times. I can’t stand insulated riding boots so socks are where it’s at! Looking forward to trying the smartwool!

I also CANNOT do insulated riding boots. Last time I wore a pair was like… 7 years ago. When I popped off 3 times in the same lesson. Nope I will keep my regular boots. But bring on the socks!

She has great products and I always love supporting small businesses. I know Sarah (draftmare) gave the small sample sizes out as gifts to people at her barn this year as well. 🙂

What a great gift! I haven’t tried those thinner smart wool socks, but I have worn the bulkier ones in the past and they are great! I dunno about the treat distribution either… Maybe you just need to pick up a few more.

I had no idea those socks were so popular. My mom has said there may be more christmas treats coming. 🙂

I mean I started out with two horses and P had 2 bridles since he had a bit and hackamore so that’s 3 plus a show bridle. Then I wanted a new show bridle…I’ve thought about selling some but I mean who can part with an Aramas bridle with leather like butter? Or the barely used red barn, it’s been in my life less than a year. The ones I would sell of course have no real value. Lol. What can I say, I love bridles.

All the treats for the best old man. 🙂

Of course it’s gotten weirdly warm here so no chance to try the socks yet! I guess you can’t have too many bridles. Maybe you need another too?
