My barn needs a name!

I figured since everyone is so great at this, I’d put out a request for help coming up with a barn name. I do have two names in mind but would love to come up with something better.

Property from above

So originally I was thinking I would like to somehow include some part of P’s show name in name of the barn. His show name is Phoenix Rising. Since I’m not inventive I thought of Phoenix Rising Farm. Seems like there should be something better out there, lol.

After so many of our delays with the property being related to rocks (guess that’s what happens when there is a failed quarry across the street?) I starting thinking of a play on my married name and maiden name and calling it Morstone (more stone) Acres. Kind of cute but I’m not sold yet.

Insert ponies here

Do you like either of these names? Other ideas? There is a prize involved – it will be random if I go with one of my ideas and you said you liked it, otherwise it will be the person who comes up with the name.

Thanks for the help!

I like Morstone but if you wanted stone and Phoenix it could just be Phoenix Stone Farms. Reminds me of the Resurrection Stone from Harry Potter. Lol

That does sound like it should be a harry potter thing, lol.

I like Morstone too. It’s unique. The first thing that came to mind after reading your post was Rising Rock Farm.

Morstone gets my vote too — creative and a fun story to tell! Ours was just a combination of our names, haha, but I really only use it in Instagram hashtags. I need to have a sign made!

I like morstone as well but don’t care for the acres part, reminds me of a western farm or cow farm lol. Morstone farm sounds better.

I’m throwing my vote in for Morstone as well, but like Christie, I think I prefer Morstone Farm or Morstone Stables. 🙂

I like stables more than farm but it feels like a bit of a tongue twister to say.

After all the work you have done on it, I kind of like Phoenix Rising as in the farm is getting a total face lift and overhaul.

      It definitely got the overhaul!

I like Morstone as well and it has meaning behind it. Im not sure about Phoenix rising-the whole idea of referencing burning/ashes etc indirectly when talking about a barn seems like bad juju.

    What about Stonemor Farm?

Thank being said, go with your gut. We had three names picked out and went with the one that we kept coming back to.

I didn’t think of the burning ashes part, I was thinking of something knew and beautiful rising from the ashes. We don’t need any bad juju though.

I think it will likely be Morstone something…just need to decide.

I am struggling with a farm name, too! Ugh!!! I thought it would come to me but altering being here for a few months, still no such luck.

I like the uniqueness of Morstone Farm! Not a fan of acres either…

It is so hard to come up with a name!

I can’t seem to get into the flow of Morstone Farm but Morstone Stables is a tongue twister.

Morstone Ranch? Or your barn could be the Cher (this is how I know I’m getting old) of barns and you could just call it “Morstone”.

I looked at some of the alternatives for “phoenix”, but I think if you did a variant, that would just be a PITA to explain every time you introduced it.

Or THE Morstone, lol. Like some kind of mansion.

Yeah not many of the phoenix alternatives really work for a barn name that I can figure out anyways. Barn names are hard!

That just seems to be begging for trouble with that name. You’d have to send me Bobby and P is currently not special needs enough to live there, lol.

We call our farm Janky Farm because it’s Janky AF lol. It’s the only fitting name until I come up with a real one…

Lol, your place doesn’t look janky at all in pictures! Our barn definitely has a few things that are less than stellar yet! Mostly the holes in the metal siding we still need to repair. I figured the ponies wouldn’t mind the extra ventilation this summer, lol.

Oh it’s super janked up lol. For instance, none of the door latches were even close to matching the hook on the wall, so no door would latch shut lol. When they painted the barn, they just painted around everything they didn’t want painted. So the trim is white except anywhere theres a latch or hook lol. Rather than replace any rotting posts, they just zip tied all of them to t posts lol. The list goes on and on, especially in the house ugh. Oh well! We love it regardless!
